A case reaches prosecution stage when charges are laid. There may be a number of hearings during this stage and name suppression may stay in place. The SFO will announce if guilty pleas are entered. If not, the case will go to trial.

Sundeep Rasila has been sentenced to five and a half months' home detention, while his co-defendant, businessman Sunil Chand, was sentenced to six months' commmunity detention. To view our latest media release about this case, please click here.

  • Sunil Chand sentenced to six months' community detention in the Auckland High Court on 21 May. 

     

     

  • Sundeep Rasila sentenced to five and a half months' home detention in the Auckland High Court on 12 May, while his co-defendant, businessman Sunil Chand, had his sentencing delayed to resolve a factual issue.

  • Defendants plead guilty in the Auckland High Court on 26 February.

  • Mr Rasila pleads not guilty in Auckland District Court on 6 August. He and his co-defendant have been remanded on bail.

  • Name suppression hearing in Auckland District Court on 26 July. Name suppression declined for Sundeep Rasila.

  • The defendants first appears in Auckland District Court on 23 July. Sundeep Rasila entered no plea while his alleged counterpart pleaded not guilty.
