The Project
A case reaches prosecution stage when charges are laid. There may be a number of hearings during this stage and name suppression may stay in place. The SFO will announce if guilty pleas are entered. If not, the case will go to trial.

Two former employees of a charity that offered domestic violence prevention services for Pacific Islanders have been charged by the SFO.

  • The trial is set down for six weeks at the Manukau District Court starting 12 October.

  • Both defendants enter not guilty pleas at the Manukau District Court on 6 March. They elect trial by jury and are remanded on existing bail conditions.

  • The defendants, Tapualii Uitime and Betty Sio, enter no plea when they appeared at the Manukau District Court on 9 October.
