The Project
A case reaches prosecution stage when charges are laid. There may be a number of hearings during this stage and name suppression may stay in place. The SFO will announce if guilty pleas are entered. If not, the case will go to trial.

Tapualii Uitime has been sentenced to two years and one month of imprisonment. Her co-defendant Betty Leuina Sio has pleaded not guilty to two charges of ‘Dishonestly using a document’. Her trial is scheduled to commence in the Manukau District Court on 28 June 2021.

  • Betty Sio's trial scheduled to commence in the Manukau District Court on 28 June.

  • Tapualii Uitime sentenced in the Manukau District Court on 7 October to 25 months' imprisonment.

  • Tapualii Uitime pleads guilty on 23 July to fraud charges. 

  • Both defendants enter not guilty pleas in the Manukau District Court on 6 March. They elect trial by jury and are remanded on existing bail conditions.

  • The defendants, Tapualii Uitime and Betty Sio, enter no plea when they appeared in the Manukau District Court on 9 October.
