Four people have been charged for allegedly manipulating Westland District Council’s procurement processes for financial gain. Interim name suppression currently applies to two of the defendants, but the SFO can confirm that no Westland District Council elected official has been charged in relation to this matter.

  • Trial scheduled to commence in the Christchruch High Court on 14 June.

  • The four defendants are scheduled to appear in the Christchurch High Court on 20 March.

  • The four defendants were scheduled to appear in the Christchurch District Court on 13 February. The hearing however was adjourned due to proceedings being transferred to the High Court. 

  • Vivek Goel pleads not guilty to four charges of ‘Corrupt use of official information’ and two charges of ‘Obtaining by deception’. Neha Bubna pleads not guilty to one charge of ‘Corrupt use of official information’ and one charge of ‘Obtaining by deception’. The two defendants entered their pleas on 30 October. The two other defendants, who have interim name suppression, did not entered pleas.
